ABC's Project A.A.

  1. Great information, overall beautiful presentation. There a few issues: the flowers are illustrative and as we have discussed in class cannot be used for this project. I think you can simply drop them, at least for this project. The example for “Glyph” is confusing because is identifies first as a swash capital. The K looks more like you are illustrating a drop shadow rather than kerning which is the space between letters of a word; it addresses readability and balance. Leading is from one baseline to the next, and is not the depth of a given letter. I think Q for quotation could include the marks as well as the Q. Ditto with Rasterize. For Tracking, same comment as Kerning. I would include a thinner or heavier version of your typeface display to illustrate Weight. The x-height illustration (arrows) should not drop below baseline. The italic swash in the typeface you are using is beautiful but doesn’t illustration the definition.

    1. You could also replace the flowers with elements of the typeface arranged in a flower-like fashion.

    2. The over-all cards are very pretty! However there are some visuals for the definitions that confuse me or I think could be done better. For the "I" in italic perhaps you could have instead added the original letter and then had a low opacity set on a duplicate that went behind it, kind of like what you did for the tracking. For neck, I understand why you added the "g" however the inclusion of two letters seems kind of confusing when he rest of the cards focus on just one letter. I would try to figure out how to integrate the definition into the "n" instead.
