Leah Davis - Example of 3D Type IRL
This is an example of a real life piece of 3D typography I see on a daily basis. If you transit West down Belmont as far as Wolcott or Damen, you're likely to see one of these art installments attached to fences. These are all over Chicago in various neighborhoods and I actually did some research and found an article on the man who puts these up around the city.

An excerpt from this article was a quote from the artist, Matthew Hoffman, "I quickly realized it's easy to feel lost, it's easy to feel alone, and sometimes you can feel like you don't matter because there's so much going on". A project that started as small stickers, grew into a worldwide phenomenon about promoting positivity and love. I find myself reading this message daily, however on days when I'm extra upset about something or just feeling down in the dumps, it means a lot more. The typeface, while simple, is compelling and bold, forcing you to look at it even if you try not to. It's even visible at night time. Overall, this is an amazing art installation.
Next time you're in Roscoe Village, Andersonville, Chinatown or Englewood, keep an eye out for these awesome messages.

Great example of powerful public art! There is store in Block 37regarding this work. Close to where the Graphic Design capstone exhibition will likely take place!
